Prior to 22.0.1, 21.2.17, and 20.3.25, an issue in the @angular/compiler package allows bypassing DOM property sanitization through the use of two-way property bindings. Specifically, when a native DOM property that requires sanitization (such as innerHTML, srcdoc, src, href, data, or sandbox) is bound using the two-way binding syntax (e.g., [(innerHTML)]=\"value\" or bindon-innerHTML=\"value\"), the Angular template compiler failed to apply the appropriate schema-derived sanitizer resolution to the TwoWayProperty operation. As a result, native two-way DOM bindings were emitted without the required sanitizer function, whereas equivalent one-way bindings would be properly sanitized. This flaw enables an attacker who can control the value of a two-way bound sensitive property to bypass Angular's built-in sanitization logic, potentially leading to client-side Cross-Site Scripting (XSS). This vulnerability is fixed in 22.0.1, 21.2.17, and 20.3.25.","published_at":"2026-06-22T15:27:38.802000Z","last_modified_at":null,"cvss_v3_score":null,"cvss_v3_vector":null,"cvss_v3_severity":null,"cvss_v4_score":5.3,"cvss_v4_vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:P/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","cvss_v4_severity":"MEDIUM","ssvc_decision":null,"ssvc_exploitation":null,"ssvc_automatable":null,"ssvc_technical_impact":null,"cwes":["CWE-79"],"nvd_references":["https://github.com/angular/angular/security/advisories/GHSA-58w9-8g37-x9v5","https://github.com/angular/angular/pull/69107","https://github.com/angular/angular/commit/3c70270c96677c0dd33585f2afe8e187113e5fb4"],"vuln_status":null,"trending_score":null,"is_trending":false,"has_trended":false,"trended_number_one":false,"trending_peak_score":null,"trending_peak_rank":null,"started_trending_at":null,"trended_number_one_at":null,"summary_generated":null,"summary_generated_at":null,"summary_model":null,"created_at":"2026-06-24T00:09:39.878444Z","updated_at":"2026-06-28T23:30:54.391983Z"},"effective_severity":"MEDIUM","badges":[],"impact_analysis":[],"cvss_v3_decoded":{"version":null,"metrics":[]},"cvss_v4_decoded":{"version":"4.0","metrics":[{"metric":"AV","name":"Attack Vector","value":"N","value_label":"Network"},{"metric":"AC","name":"Attack Complexity","value":"L","value_label":"Low"},{"metric":"AT","name":"Attack Requirements","value":"N","value_label":"None"},{"metric":"PR","name":"Privileges Required","value":"N","value_label":"None"},{"metric":"UI","name":"User Interaction","value":"P","value_label":"Passive"},{"metric":"VC","name":"Confidentiality (Vulnerable System)","value":"L","value_label":"Low"},{"metric":"VI","name":"Integrity (Vulnerable System)","value":"L","value_label":"Low"},{"metric":"VA","name":"Availability (Vulnerable System)","value":"N","value_label":"None"},{"metric":"SC","name":"Confidentiality (Subsequent System)","value":"N","value_label":"None"},{"metric":"SI","name":"Integrity (Subsequent System)","value":"N","value_label":"None"},{"metric":"SA","name":"Availability (Subsequent System)","value":"N","value_label":"None"}]},"affected":[{"vendor_slug":"angular","vendor_name":"angular","product_slug":"angular","product_name":"angular","version_start":">= 22.0.0-next.0 < 22.0.1","version_start_inclusive":true,"version_end":">= 22.0.0-next.0 < 22.0.1","version_end_inclusive":true,"cpe23_uri":"cve5:angular:angular:>= 22.0.0-next.0 < 22.0.1:>= 22.0.0-next.0 < 22.0.1"},{"vendor_slug":"angular","vendor_name":"angular","product_slug":"angular","product_name":"angular","version_start":">= 21.0.0-next.0 < 21.2.17","version_start_inclusive":true,"version_end":">= 21.0.0-next.0 < 21.2.17","version_end_inclusive":true,"cpe23_uri":"cve5:angular:angular:>= 21.0.0-next.0 < 21.2.17:>= 21.0.0-next.0 < 21.2.17"},{"vendor_slug":"angular","vendor_name":"angular","product_slug":"angular","product_name":"angular","version_start":">= 20.0.0-next.0 < 20.3.25","version_start_inclusive":true,"version_end":">= 20.0.0-next.0 < 20.3.25","version_end_inclusive":true,"cpe23_uri":"cve5:angular:angular:>= 20.0.0-next.0 < 20.3.25:>= 20.0.0-next.0 < 20.3.25"},{"vendor_slug":"angular","vendor_name":"angular","product_slug":"angular","product_name":"angular","version_start":"<= 19.2.25","version_start_inclusive":true,"version_end":"<= 19.2.25","version_end_inclusive":true,"cpe23_uri":"cve5:angular:angular:<= 19.2.25:<= 19.2.25"}],"exploit_refs":[],"news":[],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/angular/angular/security/advisories/GHSA-58w9-8g37-x9v5","source_type":"VENDOR_ADVISORY","tags":["advisory"]},{"url":"https://github.com/angular/angular/pull/69107","source_type":"PATCH","tags":["patch"]},{"url":"https://github.com/angular/angular/commit/3c70270c96677c0dd33585f2afe8e187113e5fb4","source_type":"PATCH","tags":["patch"]}],"timeline":[{"type":"published","at":"2026-06-22T15:27:38.802000Z","label":"CVE published","source":null},{"type":"cvss_changed","at":"2026-06-28T17:55:37.240342Z","label":"CVSS score revised","source":"cvelistv5"},{"type":"cvss_changed","at":"2026-06-28T17:55:37.240342Z","label":"CVSS score revised","source":"cvelistv5"},{"type":"cvss_changed","at":"2026-06-28T17:55:37.240342Z","label":"CVSS score revised","source":"cvelistv5"}]}
